I change up my makeup rather frequently, but recently I've been receiving a lot of inquiries on what I'm using. I'm not a makeup artist, lord knows that, but I think I've mastered the natural look. The problem is, everyone has a different face. Sorry, ya'll 😉 Hopefully some of what I use will work for you, but best case scenario you'll get to know some new companies that are just fantastic at what they're doing. PS none of this is sponsored & I haven't been gifted anything. I do sell Beautycounter though if you're interested in what's below from those geniuses!
Keep your skin clean, nourished & moisturized.
I have another post I'm gearing up about how I clean/moisturize my skin. The biggest points I can make here are, always take your makeup off before you shower & always get the sweat off your face post-workout. Last point, nighttime is made for moisturizing. I oil my face up every single night, how my face feels depends on what/how much oil I use.
If I'm going to the grocery on a Saturday or running errands I wear Cocokind (Light) Primer Drops & Cocokind (Light) Facial Powder. The two are made with the exact same ingredients, just one has more oil/liquid in it so it's liquid & the other has less. This makes them the perfect duo for light coverage. They consider this skincare at Cocokind, not makeup, for good reason.
If I'm heading to work or a night out, I like a little more coverage. I actually take a few drops of my Cocokind (Light) Primer Drops & mix it with 100 Percent Pure's BB Cream (Shade 10). What's funny is I bought the BB Cream on sale a while back & it was just so thick. Thicker than a concealer. I couldn't get it to slide across my face or I had to use way too much. I thought it was a horrible product (for me). Then I added a little of my Primer drops to it & away I went. I'm not sure I'll be able to change this up, I'm so in love with the glow this gives me. I have all of the control. If I want a more dewy look I add more Primer drops. I do not use powder with this look.
Bronzer, Blush & Lips
For bronzer I use a small brush or a kabuki brush & the Beautycounter Matte Bronzer (No. 1). I think my biggest trick to getting a glowy, healthy skin look is my blush though. I use the Macabeet Tinted Moisture Stick. I literally get a bunch on my cheek bone & then pat it where I want it with my fingers. It sits on my cheeks for the entire day - it's my favorite piece right now. Oh yeah, then I put it on my lips. Versatile! You can pretty much eat anything from Cocokind & that's not a joke. Plus it's all USDA Certified Organic & affordable - yeah you heard me right.
Brows, Shadow, & Mascara
I've recently been getting my brows threaded & simply brushing them into place. If I'm late on a threading appt I need a little help though & for that I use the Beautycounter Color Define Brow Pencil (Medium). The trick to using a brow pencil is to make sure it is sharp, don't push too hard & clean it off after every single use. I use Beautycounter Pearl/Champagne Eyeshadow. The Pearl I use to highlight under my brows & then the Champagne gets put on my entire eyelid. For mascara I've been using the Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara. At first, I was disappointed in myself because Stila isn't well known for having clean makeup. Well, then I researched all of the ingredients on EWG & they were fantastic. I mean, it's not perfect, but I'd call it a pretty darn good choice.
